Netflix has announced a two-hour Christmas special will be available around the globe on Dec. 23. What’s more, Season 2 will pick up with 10 new episodes on May 5, Variey said. As Netflix debuts are wont to do, the shows will be available to stream (and now possibly download) starting at 12:01 a.m. PT on the given release date. The description provided for the Christmas Special leaves a lot to the imagination: “The journey continues as these eight singular hearts and minds weave in and out of each other’s lives finding deeper connections, learning darker, more desperate secrets about one another and struggling to identify with more than just oneself.” A similarly vague setup for Season 2 says that the whole cast will struggle to survive and understand one another “against all odds.” In his review of the first season, Variety TV critic Brian Lowry wrote, “The main problem, simply, is that the show doesn’t make much sense.” Still, the streaming service in banking on the series to hold onto its devoted audience for the foreseeable future. “Sense8” stars Tuppence Middleton, Brian J. Smith, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen, Max Riemelt, Tina Desai, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Jamie Clayton as eight strangers who become mentally and emotionally linked. Lana Wachowski, Grant Hill and J.
