Armenian, Azeri Presidents not likely to meet in DushanbeOctober 3, 2007 - 20:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A meeting of Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Dushanbe is not scheduled, the RA leader's Spokesman, Victor Soghomonyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. "There is no agreement on a presidential meeting," he said.During their recent regional visit, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs said it's premature to speak of a Kocharian-Aliyev meeting. Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev will depart for Dushanbe for a CIS Summit due October 5. All leaders with exception for Ukraine's Victor Yushchenko, who will not arrive over the parliamentary elections, have confirmed their participation. Sittings of the EurAsEC interstate council and CSTO council will open October 6. An informal meeting of the CIS leaders will take place October 7. Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia, Tajikistan and Armenia are expected to meet in one of out-of-town palaces to discuss a scope of issues. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
