Lawmaker from Armenia’s Yelk bloc wants EEU agreement flaws fixed

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yelk bloc MP Edmon Marukyan announced on Monday, June 26 that he has sent a note to former Armenian prime minister, chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan over contradictions in the EEU agreement.

According to Marukyan, issues of violation of rights of Armenian citizens in Russia have been raised in the letter, as well as a number of cases of breach of the EEU agreement.

The lawmaker said practical steps must be taken to ensure the implementation of the agreement and protection of interests of Armenian citizens.

Also, Marukyan cited the financial limitations when exporting goods and services from Russia to Armenia.

The Eurasian Economic Union is aimed at developing intraregional economic ties and establishing the free flow of goods among its members: Armenia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
