Ter-Petrosyan called Jahangiryan's detainment political persecutionFebruary 24, 2008 - 17:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's ex-President Levon Ter-Petrosyan told RFE/RL liberty that detainment of former deputy prosecutor general is political persecution. "His detainment is an attempt to scare other officials," he said. "I appealed to the RA Ombudsman to look into the case, since Jahangiryan's lawyer is not allowed a meeting," he said. At that, Levon Ter-Petrosyan doesn't think that Gagik Jahangiryan's life is in jeopardy, Novosti Armenia reports.
