Germany offers privileged relations to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova

PanARMENIAN.Net - Germany offers Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova to establish privileged relationship with the European Union. An Eastern European Union may be formed by example of Mediterranean Union, MEP Ingo Friedrich said.

The EU has exhausted its enlargement capability but such a union could be an interim solution for the states on their way to the EU, according to him.

Besides, the countries engaged in the ENP are offered an interim form of relationship named European Community. This structure may include Ukraine, Moldova and South Caucasus states, aspired to join the Union in future.

Formation of the Mediterranean Union was initiated by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The Union is supposed to embrace EU member states and some Mediterranean basin countries - Turkey, Libya, Lebanon and Israel, 1news.az reports.
