ARMENIA INTERESTED IN COOPERATION WITH GERMANY IN TOWN PLANNING

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is interested in cooperation with Germany in the sphere of town planning. Armenian minister of urban planning Davit Lokian stated it at the meeting with chief architect of Berlin Claus Fotke. In his words, Germany possesses the best experience in the field among the European countries. Let us note that C.Fotke had arrived in Yerevan to sum up the results of the joint experimental program in the sphere of urban development. The program was realized within the framework of the protocol on dividing the Armenian settlements into town-planning belts signed by the Armenian and German governments in July 2001. The program expenses defrayed by the German side made up 11 million US dollars. Five cities of the Republic are included in the program - Tsakhkadzor, Goris, Alaverdi, Kapan, Ashtarak. At the end of the meeting the parties expressed readiness to continue cooperation.
