Armenia congratulates Greece on Independence Day

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Armen Sarkissian has congratulated his Greek counterpart Prokopis Pavlopoulos on the 198th anniversary of Greek Independence.

In a message sent to Athens, Sarkissian said he is confident that cooperation between Armenia and Greece will further develop, serving the progress and prosperity of the two countries.

The Greek War of Independence was a successful war of independence waged by Greek revolutionaries against the Ottoman Empire between 1821 and 1830. The Greek Revolution is celebrated by the modern Greek state as a national day on 25 March.
