Karabakh to host TechWeek Artsakh-2021 to advance IT industry![]() June 29, 2021 - 16:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Stepanakert, the capital city of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), will host TechWeek Artsakh-2021, a series of events championing the development of the IT industry, with more than 1200 participants and representatives of as many as 60 local and international companies, people behind the initiative told a press conference in Yerevan, Armenia on Tuesday, June 29. TCF co-founder and member of the Managing Board Mariam Hambardzumyan told reporters that the main goal of organizing the event in Stepanakert is to support Artsakh and its people. According to her, the participants will get to see the potential of Karabakh, with some of them having already expressed readiness to hire people from the region for remote jobs in the sphere of IT and services. The organizers are adamant that knowledge of foreign languages and IT skills will enable the residents of Artsakh to live and work in their own country. They also said all the security issues have been taken care of, Sputnik Armenia reports. As recently as nine months ago, Artsakh came under Azerbaijan's massive attack, in what later became the Second Karabakh War. Thousands of people were killed in Azerbaijan's aggression, tens of thousands are still homeless. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days.
