Armenia has recorded Covid-19-related deaths in 23 vaccinated people

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has registered Covid-19-related deaths in 23 vaccinated individuals so far. According to Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, all of them had underlying health conditions․

The Minister told a press conference on Monday, November 29 that 102 out of 2009 people currently hospitalized with Covid – or 3.5% of them – have been vaccinated against the disease.

Avanesyan also said Armenia is planning to restrict travel from South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Madagascar and Tanzania, where omicron – the new coronavirus variant – is most wide-spread.

The World Health Organization said earlier that preliminary evidence suggests there may be an increased risk of reinfection with Omicron (which means people who have previously had Covid-19 could become reinfected more easily with Omicron), as compared to other variants of concern.
