Next Armenia-Turkey talks to be held in Vienna on May 3

PanARMENIAN.Net - The next meeting of the Special Representatives of Armenia and Turkey in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process will take place on May 3 in Vienna, a spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

Turkey and Armenia last December named special envoys to discuss the normalization of ties. Two rounds of talks followed on January 14 and then February 24.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan said earlier that Armenia has suggested that Turkey open the land border for holders of diplomatic passports as a first step, but Ankara is hesitating.

His comments came after Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu urged Yerevan to take more “bold steps.” Cavusoglu said there was no reason why meetings between the special representatives of the two countries are not held in Turkey or Armenia.
