The commander of an Azerbaijani military unit, Vugar Isbendiyarov, was seriously injured in a mine explosion in the Karvachar (Kelbajar) district, the press service of the country's Prosecutor General's Office reports, according to Haqqin.az.

The serviceman was evacuated and hospitalized, the authorities said.

Karvachar came under Azerbaijan's control after the 44-day war against Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) in the fall of 2022.
