Armenian rescue team joins search operations in Turkey

PanARMENIAN.Net - The search and rescue team dispatched by Armenia is working in Adiyaman in southeastern Turkey, Turkish-Armenian MP Garo Paylan said on social media Wednesday, February 8, as rescuers are searching for survivors of a devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the region on February 6.

Armenia has sent rescue missions to both Turkey and Syria.

Rescuers pulled more survivors from beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings Thursday, but hopes were starting to fade of finding many more people alive more than three days after a catastrophic earthquake and series of aftershocks hit Turkey and Syria, killing more than 16,000, the Associated Press said.
