SCRW to open International Logistic Centre on Armenian-Turkish border

PanARMENIAN.Net - Considering the recent activeness in the Armenian-Turkish dialogue aimed at re-establishing diplomatic ties and re-launching the railway between the two states, South Caucasian Railways CJSC decided to establish a subsidiary company for International Logistic Centre organization.

As reported by the company's Press Service, the centre will facilitate freight delivery, ensuring maximum short time-limits and minimal costs as well as minimum damage to the freight delivered.

The International Logistic Centre will be based in Akhouryan frontier station to be rented by the company. As a subsidiary of SCR CJSC, the centre also plans to involve Metaksim LLC as a shareholder in its capital.

According to the report, he "Russian Railways" OJSC has already approved the idea of establishing the company, business plan development is currently in process.

South Caucasian Railways CJSC is a 100% shareholder of "Russian Railways" CJSC. Under a concession agreement signed on February 13, 2008, "Armenian Railways" CJSC was transferred to the concessionary management of SCR SJSC. The agreement was signed for the term of 20 years, with a possible extension for additional 10 years.
