Helicopters crews of Russian base in Armenia destroy mock enemy convoy

PanARMENIAN.Net - The pilots of the army aviation of the military base of the Southern Military District (SMD) in Armenia launched an airstrike on the facilities of a mock enemy at the Alagyaz high-mountain training ground in Armenia, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.

As part of the control check, the helicopter crews were given the task of destroying the "enemy" forces in mountainous areas.

After receiving coordinates from advanced aviation gunners, the pilots made combat training sorties and, upon detection of military equipment, launched unguided rockets and fired from an aircraft gun at various types of targets at ranges from one to three thousand meters.

The crews of the Southern Military District hit targets imitating an artillery battery, an armored convoy and a convoy of special equipment of a mock enemy.

Combat training sorties were carried out in the daytime and at night, using night vision devices.

More than 130 military personnel of the flight and engineering staff took part in the control checks, about 20 units of military and special equipment, including Mi-8MTV-5 and Ka-52 army aviation helicopters, were involved.
