Armenia parliament to consider draft proposal on impeachment June 17

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Parliament will hold an extraordinary session on June 17 to consider a draft proposal on the resignation of the government, according to decision signed by the Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan.

“In accordance with the Constitution of Armenia and the law On the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, at the initiative of deputies from the National Assembly, an extraordinary session will be convened on June 17, 2024 at 18:30 with the following agenda: Draft proposal of the National Assembly on the resignation of the government and the need to form a new government”, the press service of the National Assembly said say.

The leader of the opposition movement Tavush for the Motherland, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, said the day before that the opposition would initiate the process of impeachment of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in parliament, and the people would gather at the parliament building to support the process.
