Armenia expects answers from Moscow on bilateral ties

PanARMENIAN.Net - The vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament Hakop Arshakyan has said that Yerevan has questions to which it expects answers from Moscow within bilateral relations, Sputnik Armenia reports.

“There are problems in relations regarding the activities of the CSTO, the security system of Armenia and the implementation or non-fulfillment of the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020,” Arshakyan said, referencing the trilateral statement that Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.

He emphasized that all these issues are raised and discussed every day. In this context, Arshakyan also recalled his recent visit to Russia.

Arshakyan's remarks came after Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that the Russian side is concerned that with the approval of Yerevan, the EU mission in Armenia could receive permanent status. In addition, Galuzin expressed fears that the activities of the EU mission are aimed at collecting intelligence regarding Russian targets and targets of states neighboring Armenia, such as Iran and Turkey.

Arshakyan told reporters in Yerevan that all decisions concerning the security and interests of the country are made exclusively by the Armenian authorities.
