Haik Martirosyan wins silver at FIDE World Blitz Team Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Haik M. Martirosyan has won silver as part of the Chessy team at the the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships.

The Championships was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, with four rounds of rapid chess taking place on Friday, August 2.

Chessy, the team led by Martirosyan and Richard Rapport, grabbed 4 wins in 4 matches on Friday.

However, WR Chess led by World Rapid and Blitz Champion Magnus Carlsen made a strong comeback on Monday, August 5 to clench victory.
