PM: Armenia’s Constitution makes no territorial claim against neighbors

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Wednesday, December 11 that the country’s Constitution does not contain any territorial claims against its neighbors.

Pashinyan’s remarks come amid demands from Azerbaijan to change the Constitution of Armenia. According to top officials from Baku, the country’s Constitution contains territorial claim against Azerbaijan.

“The Constitutional Court of Armenia, in its Decision dated Sept 26, 2024, noted that the reference to the Declaration of Independence in the preamble part of the Constit pertains exclusively to those provisions of the declaration that have been enshrined in the articles of the Constitution,” Pashinyan said on X.

“No provision of the RA Constitution contains any territorial claim against our neighbors.”
