Trump outlines bold executive agenda ahead of inauguration

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the brink of his return to the White House, President-elect Donald Trump vowed to unleash a wave of executive orders immediately after being sworn in, declaring he would act with "historic speed and strength" during the initial hours of his presidency.

As reported by BBC News, speaking to a spirited crowd at a "Victory Rally" in Washington, DC, Trump previewed his upcoming term while celebrating his decisive victory over the Democrats in the November election.

The president-elect announced intentions to bypass Congress on multiple fronts, aiming to initiate deportations on a large scale, roll back environmental protections, and dismantle diversity initiatives.

"We put America first, and it all starts tomorrow," he told the cheering audience, adding, "You're going to have a lot of fun watching television tomorrow."

Trump plans to authorize over 200 executive actions on Monday, including legally binding executive orders and less formal presidential directives such as proclamations.

"Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be repealed within hours of when I take the oath of office," Trump said, according to the BBC report.

Among the anticipated orders are directives to enhance artificial intelligence programs, establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), release classified records on President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 assassination, instruct the military to build an Iron Dome missile defense system, and eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mandates within the armed forces.

Additionally, he pledged to prohibit transgender women from competing in female sports categories and to return control of education policy to state governments. "You're going to see executive orders that are going to make you extremely happy," Trump remarked. "We have to set our country on the proper course."

Immigration, a cornerstone of Trump’s campaign, will be a focus of his initial executive actions. He reiterated plans to deport millions of undocumented migrants, though experts warn that such efforts could face logistical challenges and cost billions of dollars.

Trump also indicated he would issue pardons for those convicted in connection with the January 6 Capitol riots. Referring to the rioters as "hostages," he assured the crowd that his decisions would bring satisfaction.
