Armenian Airways registers cargo aircraft

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenia Airways airline has registered its third aircraft in Armenia, this time a cargo plane. On December 14, the operator’s Boeing 737-300SF cargo aircraft, with registration EK-73750, was added to Armenia’s aircraft registry, as reported by the Civil Aviation Committee’s website.

The airline also owns two passenger Boeing 737-300 aircraft, registered as EK-73730 and EK-73740.

The Boeing 737-300SF, manufactured in 1998, was previously operated in Malta, Italy, New Zealand, and Bahrain (the EK-73730 and EK-73740 aircraft were produced in 1995). Notably, the aircraft was initially a passenger plane but was converted to a cargo version in 2015, according to Hetq.

Before being transferred to Yerevan in late October 2024, EK-73750 was operated by Bahrain’s Texel Air. Its registration in Armenia is valid until September 5 this year. According to http://planespotters.net , the aircraft is owned by the Irish leasing company K2 Aviation Partners (formerly Kahala Aviation Leasing).

Currently, Armenia Airways is the only Armenian airline operating both passenger and cargo aircraft. However, EK-73750 does not yet have an airworthiness certificate, meaning it is currently not authorized for flights.

The EK-73730 and EK-73740 aircraft are currently flying on the Yerevan–Tehran–Yerevan route.

Founded in 2013, Armenia Airways began commercial flights only in 2019. The airline is owned by Yerevan-based Euro Express LLC, with shareholders Hormoz Golazizi Darberoudi (51%), an Armenian citizen, and Zera Ablyalimova (49%), an Uzbek citizen who also serves as the company’s director.
