Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan announced on her Facebook page that significant progress has been achieved in the key metrics outlined in Armenia’s health strategy. She stressed the necessity of implementing a universal health insurance system in the country.
"On January 21, we presented the report on the ‘Development Strategy for Armenia's Health System for 2023–2026’ and the 2024 performance of its resulting initiatives.
I would like to note that we have made substantial progress in the target indicators set out by the strategy.
Of course, we must establish a universal insurance system to improve access to healthcare services in our country, but the systemic changes already implemented are yielding positive results.
For example, significant advancements have been achieved in breast cancer prevention thanks to medication policies and screening programs," Avanesyan wrote.
