EU’s High Representative Kaja Kallas to visit Armenia soon

PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will visit Armenia soon. This was announced by Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, during discussions in the National Assembly's Committee on European Integration.

The committee is reviewing a draft law titled "On initiating the process of Armenia’s accession to the European Union." The deputy minister proposed giving a favorable conclusion to the initiative.

According to Hovhannisyan, the draft law, submitted based on a civil initiative, aligns with the current dynamics of Armenia’s cooperation with the EU and its member states.

On January 9, Armenia’s government approved a proposal to begin the EU accession process, presented by the EuroЖote civil initiative. The proposal will soon be discussed in Armenia’s parliament.

The European Union will analyze the Armenian government’s approved proposal to start the accession process and discuss it with Armenian authorities, said Anita Hipper, EU spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy.
