Vahe Grigoryan to serve as ECHR judge from Armenia

Vahe Grigoryan, vice president of Armenia’s Constitutional Court, has been elected as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) from Armenia. The election took place at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

His tenure at the ECHR will last for nine years.

"Vahe Grigoryan has been elected as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights for a nine-year term by majority vote. His mandate will commence no later than three months after his election," the statement reads.

ECHR judges are elected by vote from a list of three candidates nominated by each member state in accordance with the European Convention on Human Rights.
