Georgia ready to mediate in regional peace efforts![]() January 30, 2025 - 13:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgia is willing to mediate in fostering regional stability and peace, Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili announced during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. She expressed hope that the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty would be finalized with mutually acceptable terms, as this would provide a foundation for long-term stability in the region. The Georgian diplomat stressed her country's readiness to collaborate with its neighbors, Sputnik Armenia reports. "To strengthen stability and peace in the region, Georgia wishes to play the role of a mediator. We will express our readiness to facilitate this peace process between our neighboring countries. Georgia is committed to ensuring lasting peace," Botchorishvili stated. She further emphasized that Armenia and Georgia respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, pledging that this principle would continue to guide their relations. "We are ready to intensify our efforts to establish mutually acceptable projects in the region," the Georgian foreign minister added. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in turn, underlined Armenia’s interest in conducting not only Armenia-Azerbaijan but also Armenia-Georgia border delimitation efforts. During her speech, Maka Botchorishvili also extended an invitation to Ararat Mirzoyan to visit Georgia, which was accepted with appreciation. On January 30, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and a delegation will visit Armenia for an official visit.
