EAEU explores AI-based digital transport solutions

Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated at the Digital Almaty forum in Kazakhstan that artificial intelligence (AI) within the EAEU framework could enhance the free movement of goods, services, capital, and people.

To integrate innovative mechanisms into unified digital systems, it is essential to involve EAEU supranational bodies, particularly the Digital Initiatives Fund, reports Sputnik Armenia.

"The fund’s projects include initiatives such as the electronic labor exchange and electronic passports for vehicles," Grigoryan added.

He stressed that digitalization is of strategic importance for Armenia, enabling businesses and citizens to reduce costs and time while helping the state minimize bureaucratic obstacles.

The introduction of online platforms in Armenia fosters a favorable environment for state-citizen interaction. Grigoryan also noted that data repositories are a national asset, allowing the government to provide personalized public services.

Grigoryan heads Armenia’s delegation at the EAEU Intergovernmental Council meeting in Kazakhstan, taking place on January 30-31.

Yerevan’s municipal council has approved a fare increase for public transport, setting the price at 150 drams per trip. A new unified ticketing system is also planned.
