Former member of Armenia’s national weightlifting team and European champion Samvel Gasparyan has been appointed Secretary General of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation.

"I am starting my work in my beloved federation with great love and responsibility. Just as I served my country during my athletic career, I will continue to do so for future victories. I thank the president of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation, Arayik Harutyunyan, for his trust," he wrote on social media.

Gasparyan ended his sports career in 2024.
