NSS files report against NGO head over Azerbaijani song video

PanARMENIAN.Net - The National Security Service (NSS) has submitted a report to the Investigative Committee against the head of an NGO who shared a video featuring Azerbaijani-language singing in Republic Square. This was stated in an official announcement.

"On January 30, a video featuring a group of Iranian citizens in Yerevan's Republic Square was circulated online. As a result of complex operational and intelligence measures carried out by the NSS, factual evidence was obtained confirming that the widely shared video was published by G. B., the head of the 'Independent Center for Strategic Studies' NGO, on the organization's Facebook page.

Along with the video, G. B. used information and communication technologies to make public statements that incited and/or promoted hatred and intolerance against an individual or group based on political and social factors," the statement said.

Based on the evidence gathered through intelligence operations, a report on an alleged crime has been submitted to the Investigative Committee under Article 329, Part 2, Clause 3 of Armenia’s Criminal Code.

Earlier, the NSS clarified that the individuals shown in the widely discussed video were actually Iranian citizens.
