NA speaker highlights regional connectivity initiative in Brussels

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan, on a working visit to Belgium, met with Valérie De Bue, President of the Belgian Senate, on February 7. During the meeting, the two officials discussed interparliamentary cooperation, Armenia-EU relations, and the country’s ongoing democratic reforms.

Simonyan introduced the 'Crossroads of Peace' initiative, a project proposed by the Armenian government aimed at creating new opportunities for regional connectivity.

The officials also addressed the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, as well as other key regional matters.

The 'Crossroads of Peace' initiative focuses on developing communications among Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran by restoring, constructing, and operating roads, railways, pipelines, cables, and power lines. All infrastructure, including roads, railways, air routes, pipelines, cables, and power lines, will function under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the respective countries they pass through.
