Azerbaijan's stance deeply concerning, says Simonyan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan has expressed deep concern over Azerbaijan's position, noting that for three months, there has been no response to Armenia's proposals. He emphasized that the issue is being actively discussed with international partners and stressed the importance of Azerbaijan continuing its participation in the peace process.

"Everyone knows that we have presented a package, and we are waiting for a response, but to this day, we have not received one. Perhaps this is related to the tense situation between Azerbaijan and Russia; I don't know. In any case, the Armenian side is waiting for a reaction," Simonyan stated.

When asked whether Baku is discussing the negotiated document with Moscow, Simonyan replied that he could not say and could not rule out anything.

He also highlighted the interconnectedness between the independence and sovereignty of Armenia and Azerbaijan. "I believe the Azerbaijani side understands that Armenia's independence, Armenia's sovereignty, the future of Armenia's sovereignty and independence, and Azerbaijan's sovereignty and its future are all very interconnected, and it is in our hands. Today, we have a historic chance to resolve this issue once and for all and provide our descendants with peaceful coexistence," Simonyan noted.
