Armenia, UAE to launch joint space projects

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, met with the Director-General of the UAE Space Agency, Salem Al Qubaisi, in Abu Dhabi to discuss potential collaboration in the space sector.

They explored opportunities for cooperation and agreed to launch joint programs aimed at advancing space technologies and fostering scientific and technological progress in line with the interests of both countries.

Hayrapetyan outlined Armenia’s vision for space sector development and the steps being taken to achieve it. In turn, Salem Al Qubaisi provided an overview of the UAE Space Agency’s establishment and progress, highlighting existing achievements and upcoming major projects.

The discussion placed special emphasis on scientific research, the development of industry startups, and experimental technologies, as well as continued collaboration within the framework of the Artemis Accords—an initiative focused on the peaceful use of space and innovative solutions to global challenges facing humanity.

The meeting was attended by Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Gevorg Mantashyan, Armenian Ambassador to the UAE Karen Grigoryan, UAE Space Agency’s Director of Space Policy Fatma Al Shamsi, and Senior Strategic Cooperation Specialist Hassan Al Shehhi.
