Russia is part of the 3+3 format, and under these conditions, we are not going to sit at any table with Russia, said Georgian Dream MP Levan Machavariani. He was responding to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement that "a chair for Georgian representatives will always be available in the 3+3 format meeting hall."
According to Machavariani, no discussions have taken place on this matter.
"Russia participates in the 3+3 format, Russia has occupied our territories, and of course, under these conditions, we are not going to sit at any table with Russia. We have neither diplomatic relations nor any other form of contact. First, we must resolve the issue of our territorial integrity, and only then can we discuss whether there should be any format at all," he stated.
Machavariani also commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying that he "agrees with Trump that Zelensky could have avoided the war with Russia."
"I cannot judge whether Zelensky is a dictator or not; that is not for me to decide. However, I agree with Mr. Trump that Zelensky could have avoided this war. Trump is already openly saying that Ukraine could have avoided this, but Zelensky was encouraged and pushed by the so-called big guys. He should have avoided this war," Machavariani said.
