Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan participated in the New Routes, New Markets: Global Gateway and potential markets along the Middle Corridor international forum held on January 19-20 in Hamburg, Germany. The event was co-organized by the German Eastern Business Association and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
During a panel discussion, Kostanyan delivered a speech detailing the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project.
He emphasized that the initiative aims to ensure economic connectivity and promote lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
The project’s main objective is to establish new connections between East and West, as well as North and South. This, in turn, is expected to strengthen economic and cultural ties while fostering political dialogue and comprehensive peace in the region for the benefit of all peoples.
Kostanyan also highlighted Armenia’s approach to developing regional and international transportation and trade links, stating that these efforts will create new opportunities not only for the South Caucasus but also for a broader geographic area.
The government has developed the "Crossroads of Peace" project, focusing on expanding communication links between Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran. This includes renovating, constructing, and operating roads, railways, pipelines, cables, and power transmission lines. All infrastructure—roads, railways, air routes, pipelines, cables, and power lines—will function under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries they pass through.
