Aram I urges vigilance amid geopolitical challenges

Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia has sent a message to the 35th General Assembly of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) in Yerevan. The message was read by Archbishop Mesrop Sarkisyan, spiritual leader of the diocese of the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and neighboring regions, and the Catholicos’ representative.

According to Panorama.am , the message emphasizes that “the church cannot remain indifferent when our spiritual, moral, and national values are in retreat.”

*"The situation in Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora is deeply concerning. The current geopolitical conditions do not favor us, and we are surrounded by threats.

We are on the edge of an abyss. We must adopt appropriate positions, avoiding all forms of unrealistic approaches and superficial judgments.

The church cannot remain indifferent, passive, or merely an observer when our spiritual, moral, and national values are retreating, when internal divisions threaten our national unity, and when policies of concession in exchange for temporary and illusory peace jeopardize Armenia’s territorial integrity,"* Aram I’s message reads.
