Grandmaster Aram Hakobyan leads Aeroflot Open 2025

PanARMENIAN.Net - Grandmaster Aram Hakobyan is currently leading the Aeroflot Open 2025 international chess tournament in Moscow. After five rounds, Hakobyan has accumulated 4.5 points, sharing the first position with American Grandmaster Hans Moke Niemann. In the sixth round, Hakobyan is set to face Niemann.

Among other Armenian participants, Grandmasters Hayk Martirosyan, Manuel Petrosyan, Mamikon Gharibyan, and FIDE Master Vahe Sukiassian have each scored 3 points. Notably, Sukiassian has competed against grandmasters in all five rounds, securing a victory over Pavel Ponkratov and drawing with Andrey Esipenko, Alexander Grischuk, Vadim Zvjaginsev, and Manuel Petrosyan.

International Master Arsen Davtyan and FIDE Master Rudolf Pashikyan have each garnered 2.5 points.
