Armenia’s Minister of Finance, Vahe Hovhannisyan, participated in the panel discussion titled “Harnessing the Opportunities of EU Enlargement” at the EIB Group Forum 2025 in Luxembourg, the Ministry of Finance reports.
During the discussion, Hovhannisyan outlined key issues related to Armenia’s EU accession process. He emphasized the necessity of peacefully resolving regional conflicts, discussed the Crossroads of Peace initiative, and highlighted the importance of cooperation with the European Investment Bank as well as attracting foreign direct investments.
On February 12, Armenia’s National Assembly approved in the first reading a bill on launching the EU accession process. The government had endorsed the initiative on January 9, following a proposal by the “Eurovote” civic movement. The bill is set for further parliamentary discussions.
