Armenia’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that it has accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals regarding two previously disputed articles in the peace agreement, signaling that the document is now ready for signing.
According to the statement, Armenia is prepared to begin consultations on the timing and location of the signing.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has officially informed Azerbaijan through diplomatic channels that Armenia accepts Azerbaijan’s proposals on the two unresolved articles of the ‘Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.’ Armenia has also suggested issuing a joint statement confirming that the agreement’s text has been finalized and negotiations have been concluded.
However, Azerbaijan opted to make a unilateral statement instead.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia confirms that the text of the peace agreement has been agreed upon and that negotiations regarding the agreement’s content have been completed.
Thus, the peace agreement is now ready for signing. Armenia is prepared to begin consultations with Azerbaijan on the date and venue of the signing," the statement reads.
Earlier, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced that negotiations on the peace agreement with Armenia had concluded, as Armenia accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on the last two disputed points.
"The next step, as expected by Baku, is the removal of territorial claims against Azerbaijan from Armenia’s Constitution. Additionally, the OSCE Minsk Group and its remnants must be dissolved," he stated.
