The Armenian Ministry of Defense has dismissed as false the statement by Azerbaijan’s defense ministry alleging that between 22:20 on March 18 and 01:40 on March 19, Armenian forces fired on Azerbaijani positions along the eastern and southeastern sections of the border.

The ministry reiterated that Armenia's prime minister’s office had proposed establishing a joint Armenian-Azerbaijani mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative.

“The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms its readiness to examine the evidence supporting Azerbaijan’s claims, provided such information is shared with Armenia in accordance with the prime minister’s office's position.

As of now, the Republic of Azerbaijan has not provided Armenia with any factual data or justification regarding alleged ceasefire violations by Armenian forces,” the statement reads.

Since March 16, Azerbaijan’s defense ministry has been releasing multiple daily reports claiming gunfire from Armenian positions. Armenia has consistently denied these accusations, and the EU monitoring mission has also refuted Baku’s disinformation.
