Rasmussen: time for Azerbaijan to agree with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former NATO Secretary General and current chairman of the international political consultancy "Rasmussen Global," Anders Fogh Rasmussen, has commenced his visit to Armenia.

He announced his arrival on X, stating, "My visit to Armenia has begun. Armenia's democratic allies must make it clear to Azerbaijan that the time has come to agree on a sustainable peace with Armenia."

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated on multiple occasions that the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been agreed upon and is awaiting final signing. He has proposed to the President of Azerbaijan to initiate consultations regarding the signing of the agreed draft.

On March 13, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it had accepted the Azerbaijani side's proposals regarding the two previously unagreed articles, and that the peace agreement is ready for signing. Armenia has expressed readiness to begin consultations on the timing and venue for the signing of the agreement. However, Baku has introduced new preconditions and stated that it is premature to discuss meeting dates.
