Ararat soundtrack premieres in Armenia with symphony orchestra

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian premiere of the suite from Atom Egoyan’s film “Ararat,” composed by acclaimed Canadian composer Mychael Danna, will take place on March 29 as part of the 5th Penderecki Contemporary Music Festival.

The music will be performed by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

The concert program also features “Styx,” a contemplative piece by Georgian composer Giya Kancheli, performed by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, violist Sara McElravy, and the Armenian National Academic Choir.

The evening will also include a performance of “Three Pieces in Old Style” by Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, written for string orchestra. The concert will be conducted by maestro Sergey Smbatyan.
