Zakharova: Moscow, Yerevan maintain political dialogue![]() March 27, 2025 - 17:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia and Armenia are developing multifaceted political cooperation, with their positions aligning or converging on the majority of issues on the international agenda, said Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to her, Yerevan has consistently supported Russian initiatives and has co-authored several resolutions aimed at countering the glorification of Nazism, reports Sputnik Armenia. “There are still unresolved issues that need clarification to avoid harming relations, and we are addressing those,” Zakharova noted. She added that the Russian side believes Yerevan recognizes the practical importance of active participation in Eurasian integration projects and understands their role in ensuring the country’s socio-economic stability and security. Zakharova highlighted the ongoing communication between the two countries’ leaders, noting that the Prime Minister of Armenia has accepted an invitation to visit Moscow for the upcoming 80th Victory Day celebrations. She also mentioned constructive talks between the foreign ministers, recent consultations between deputy foreign ministers, active inter-parliamentary mechanisms, and various initiatives in the business, cultural-humanitarian, and educational spheres. In particular, an Armenian delegation is set to visit the Sirius Educational Center in April to help expedite the opening of a Russian educational center for gifted children in Jermuk. Earlier, Anna Donchenko, Russia’s trade representative in Armenia, stated that bilateral relations are mostly developing within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, aligning with both countries’ foreign economic interests. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
