More than half of surveyed Gyumri residents expressed doubts or uncertainty about the fairness of the upcoming city council elections, a recent Gallup International Association poll revealed.
Gallup International Association’s Armenian office conducted a survey in Gyumri to assess public expectations regarding the fairness of the upcoming city council elections.
When asked, “In your opinion, will the Gyumri city council elections be fair and free of violations?”, 27.9% of respondents answered “definitely yes”, while 34.8% said “rather yes,” according to Aysor.am .
Meanwhile, 15.2% of those surveyed stated that the elections would “rather not” be fair and free of violations, and another 15.2% responded with a definite “no.”
An additional 6.9% said they found it difficult to express an opinion.
The survey was conducted in Gyumri from March 25 to 26 and included 612 participants.
According to the data, 52.9% of those surveyed said they were unfamiliar with the campaign platforms of the parties and alliances running in the election.
