Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has denied what it described as yet another instance of disinformation by Baku.
According to the ministry, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's claim that Armenian forces allegedly opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in the eastern and southeastern directions of the border on the evening of March 29 and the morning of March 30 does not correspond to reality.
The Armenian side reminded that the Prime Minister's Office of Armenia had previously proposed creating a joint mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations or related reports. However, the Azerbaijani side has yet to respond to this initiative.
The Defense Ministry reaffirmed its readiness to examine the facts behind Azerbaijan's claims jointly—should Baku submit such information—based on the Armenian Prime Minister’s position.
Since March 16, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has repeatedly spread disinformation, alleging gunfire from the Armenian side. Armenia’s Defense Ministry has consistently denied these claims. The EU observer mission has also dismissed Baku’s accusations as false.
