Baku court hears soldiers’ testimonies in Vardanyan trial![]() April 16, 2025 - 11:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - More than 20 individuals identified as "victims," mostly military personnel, testified during the April 15 session of the ongoing trial against Ruben Vardanyan at the Baku Military Court, as part of a fabricated criminal case. These individuals recounted injuries sustained during combat operations. The hearing was presided over by Judge Zeynal Aghayev, with judges Anar Rzayev and Jamal Ramazanov also on the panel. Gunel Samedova served as the alternate judge. Vardanyan was provided with a Russian translator and legal counsel of his own choosing, according to Minval.az . The next court session is scheduled for April 22. International human rights organizations have expressed concern about the protection of rights and the assurance of fair trials for Vardanyan and other Armenian captives. Amnesty International, in particular, has urged Azerbaijani authorities to guarantee Ruben Vardanyan's right to a fair trial and investigate claims of rights violations. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
