CSTO creates powerful military alignment in Central Asia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Collective Security Treaty Organization (SCTO) projects to establish powerful military alignment in Central Asia for ensuring stability in that important region. "Russia jointly with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan establish the powerful military alignment in Central Asia able to repel large-scale aggression, Vitali Strugovets, SCTO press secretary, said.



According to him, the military alignment in Central Asia will serve for conducting so called big wars, but not for settling local

conflicts, like Rapid Deployment collective Forces, Voice of Russia reports.



It is projected to involve tank, artillery and aviation units of five states, as well as Caspian naval forces of Russia and Kazakhstan in the military alignment. Moscow projects to provide with airborne division and Landing Assault brigade, Kazakhstan will provide with Landing Assault brigade, rest of the states will provide with battalions.
