RA Parliament approved amnesty proposal

PanARMENIAN.Net - In an extraordinary session held today, RA National Assembly approved President's proposal on declaring amnesty. The document was passed with a vote of 98 for, 1 against and 3 abstention.



Parliament also approved Speaker Hovik Abrahmyan's proposal on reducing the prison term of the individuals accused of committing crimes during March 1-2 incidents in Yerevan.



Under another decision passed by Parliament, the following individuals are exempted from criminal liability: individuals with 1st and 2nd groups of disability, detainees above age 60, minors, participants of Great Patriotic War, servicemen who participated in defense operations in Armenia, political repression victims and people belonging to similar categories, spouses, children and parents of servicemen who died during defense operations.



Amnesty also applies to the detainees sentenced for the term of 5 years or less.
