Awards for contributions to Armenia- Diaspora relations development were instituted

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today a sitting of Diaspora Ministry Board was held, headed by Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan. The Board approved a proposition on the institution of Ministry's gold medal award and "William Saroyan", "Poghos Nubar", "Komitas", "Arshile Gorky" medals.



The medals will be bestowed on people who've made significant contributions to the development of Armenia- Diaspora relations.

A resolution was passed on conducting an annual contest for the best coverage of Ministry's and Armenian Diaspora's activities.

According to Ministry resolution, Armenian schools of Diaspora will be provided with 2000 schoolbooks, educational and methodological textbooks.



Currently 400 day and 700 Sunday Armenian schools are operating in 30 countries of the world. Only 5-10% of Armenian children residing in countries in question attend those schools.
