TRIAL ON «A1+» TV COMPANY'S SUIT VERSUS ARMENIAN NATIONAL COMMISSION ON TELEVISION AND RADIO BEGAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today in the Economic Court of Armenia the hearings of «A1+» company's suit versus the Armenian National commission on television and radio have started. The leadership of the company accuses the commission of that it unlawfully deprived «A1+» of the right to broadcast. It should be reminded, as a result of the tender for licensing, «A1+» TV company stood down and the right to broadcast on 37 decimetric frequency was given to «Sharm» company. According to plaintiffs, the tender for licensing of the vacant frequencies held by the Commission and the decision made by the Commission are contrary to a number of the articles of the law on television and radio of Armenia. Particularly the terms of the tender announcing and the order of its holding are broken. At the sitting today the representatives of plaintiffs introduced two applications: on turning on the TV company's transmitter and on broadcast recommencement. These two applications were rejected. In their turn, the defendants claim the actions of the Commission members conform to the law.
