Javahk Armenians - hindrance to creation of united Georgian nation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Discriminative policy conducted by Georgian authorities in Samtskhe -Javaheti aims at creation of united Georgian nation. Armenians residing in the region serve as are the main hindrance to the goal, Edgar Helhelyan, an expert at Mitq Analytical center told a news conference in Yerevan. "Official Tbilisi is conducting an overt eviction policy towards Armenians residing in the region. Should Armenian authorities undertake concrete steps to protect Armenians' rights, Javahk could become a factor for Armenia to influence Georgian policy," the expert noted.

As he said, recent statement of RA President Serzh Sargsyan on Javahk was the fist official one made within 20 years. "We only ask for provision and realization of Javahk Armenians' rights. Armenian students cannot get books on RA History through to Javahk territory as Georgian frontier guards consider them to be terrorist literature. Javahk's Armenian youth are living in atmosphere of fear," Edgar Helhelyan emphasized.
