PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's state ex-minister Sepuh Tashchyan has expressed readiness to testify on the case on misuse in the energy sphere in 1992-1999. US citizen Tashchyan was state minister in 1993-94 and coordinated the energy sphere. He is engaged in the above-mentioned case as a witness. Investigators are going to ask him a number of questions. As «Arminfo» was informed by several sources, investigating bodies have information that Tashchyan, abusing his position, signed the agreement on granting $54.7 million credit for the completion of the building of the fifth energy block of the Razdan thermoenergy plant with the European bank for reconstruction and development. But the funds were used so ineffectively that the EBRD had to stop the financing. As a result, the building of the energy block is still not completed. It should be also noted that the Office of the Public Prosecutor finished and brought into court two more cases in December. So check-ups in the energy sphere are mainly finished and the Office of the Public Prosecutor has begun the examination of the enterprises and the organizations engaged in the gas sphere of the republic. It should be reminded that the temporary parliamentary commission, investigating the facts of the violations of the law in the energy sphere has valued damage at $200 million, but the Office of the Public Prosecutor considers this sum overvalued.
