ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT -«ARMENTEL» TALKS TO END AHEAD OF TIMEDecember 4, 2001 - 22:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The results of the talks between the telecommunication monopolist of Armenia, «ArmenTel» and the government of the republic will be announced in a week. Minister of Justice David Arutyunyan has stated it today in his conversation with «Arminfo» correspondent. According to him, the «ArmenTel» leadership and OTE Greek concern that owns 90% of the company shares have conflicting positions regarding the Armenian side proposals. «The half of the leaders of «ArmenTel» and OTE accept our suggestions, the other part refuses to accept them», has said the minister and noted the court examination is also possible. It should be reminded that «ArmenTel» company intended to establish per minute payment for city calls since September 1, 2001 and the government raised a strong objection to that. November 19, on the government's initiative, the 60-day talks started. Judging by the minister's words the talks will end ahead of time.
